Win a Chance to Experience the World’s Wines at Winefest Calgary

I love wine. I’m not one of those fussy people who can only drink red, or white or champagne. All I ask is that it be a drinkable wine – and not some gut rot that’s got more antiseptic properties than anything else.

But there’s a problem. How do you know what it’s going to taste like without trying it?

"Winefest 2014"Granted you can rely on the points system and look to Robert Parker and Anthony Gismondi for advice. When I lived in Vancouver I used to get invited to a neighbour’s place for parties and Anthony would usually be there with a case of wines to try and plenty of suggestions. Unfortunately those days are over now that I’m in Calgary.

But there is one option that’s open to the public – providing you’re of drinking age – Winefest Calgary – and it’s on this weekend.

But there’s a problem. All tickets for Friday night and Saturday night are sold out. There is only availability for Saturday afternoon from 2 – 5 pm.

Fortunately there is also a solution.

I have two tickets to give away for Saturday afternoon – as long as you’re 18 or over. All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog and tell me what your favourite wine is.

What you get with your $75 ticket to Winefest Calgary is a Riedel wine glass, all the hors d’oeuvres you can eat and loads of wines from around the world to sample. And then if you like them you can buy them onsite – unless of course they’ve sold out.
